Cle Elum, Washington – July
We finished up with our first week of our Nomad Life 2026 adventure, a week in Cle Elum visiting daughter Meghan and family.
We found a magical AirBnB in Elk Heights, halfway between Cle Elum and Ellensburg, just off I-90,
Spokane, Washington – July
We concluded our 12 days in Spokane last Tuesday, a near two weeks of wine bars and breweries, visiting Coeur d’Alene niece Gaby Buch and her visiting mom, Nancy’s sister Sandy Polichene (that’s her in the other Adirondack chair above), and hanging out in the sometimes sketchy Gonzaga University-adjacent Logan neighborhood, a block west of Hamilton.
Redmond, Washington – August
So, our last Nomad Life stop in the Pacific Northwest was in Redmond, Washington: the land of Microsoft and Nintendo and a whole lot of techies. We’d lived there for 5 years in the mid-90’s – before buying our place on the Sammamish Plateau in 1998 – so we knew our way around.
Side Trip: Lawrenceville, PA – August
Taking advantage of Henry’s first day of school, on Tuesday Kylene played hooky and the four of us ventured down to the Strip District and Lawrenceville in Pittsburgh’s East End.
Side Trip: Sewickley, Pennsylvania
So, after our 13,607-step Tuesday, we borrowed Kylene’s car for a half hour excursion to the pocket community of Sewickley for hair appointments and an early dinner, but first a stop at daughter-blessed Carnegie Coffee Company smack dab canter in its namesake borough.
