I Googled nomadlife180 and could not believe that it actually took me to your site (did I give you my e-mail in advance Glenn at Big Block when last you hosted Quiz night)…or is AI so frickin’ smart it somehow connected us? Anyway, I signed up for updates. Good luck, that is quite the planned itinerary you have. Just as well you have a car in U.K. as that is quite the sweep. The 2 nights here, there, everywhere – packing / unpacking can take a toll but does force one to hit the cream of the highpoints….from our recent experience.
We did a 2 week whirlwind trip (back home to UK/ Ireland). We did it mainly by train (Seattle to London for 3 nights, Edinburgh, Glasgow (by rail grabbed lunch, then by coach that evening to the ferry to Belfast – coach drove on / off), Belfast 2 nights (rail again to Dublin, rail transfer out West to Westport, Co. Mayo (to see friends/ sister) , then back to Dublin (my home town) for a more liesurely 3 nights including most of family), then home to Seattle.
Loved Edinburgh (beautiful old city center but lots of tourists, beware), could have done without Glasgow (depressing), Belfast (2 nights was just enough time to do a private car tour of Giant’s Causeway and see the Titanic museum (fantastic). The Guiness Brewery / Storehouse tour / pints is $$ but worth it (especially if day is clear).
Hey Steve,
Good to know that a simple Google search will get you to the site.
And thanks for your input! Not doubt there’s some jumping around during our England/Scotland travels, but we figure we’ll balance that out with weeklong stays in Charleston and Asheville, then 2+ weeklong stays at our 3 cities in Italy.
Cheers.
